Exploring Autumn
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" Ecclesiastes 3:1 WEB Taken on October 16, 2014 with a Canon PowerShot A630 on the 400 Trail near Reedsburg, Wisconsin. "...let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us,..." Hebrews 12:1c WEB
Taken on September 13, 2014 with a Canon PowerShot A630 on the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, Idaho USA. This scenic trail winds through a mountainous area in the Idaho panhandle. Built on a Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way, the trail is not only a recreational trail, but it provides a solution to environmental problems left by mining in the area. The paved trail and surrounding gravel barriers provide a permanent cap isolating contaminants. It was nice to ride this paved trail after riding the gravel Route of the Hiawatha Trail. “There will be light at the end of the tunnel. It just takes a while to see it.”
Taken on September 11, 2014 with a Canon PowerShot A630 on the Route of the Hiawatha Trail, St. Paul Pass, Bitterroot Range, Montana/Idaho Border. The Route of the Hiawatha mountain bike and hiking trail is 15 miles long with 10 tunnels and 7 sky high trestle bridges. At 1.66 miles (2.67 km) the St. Paul Pass Tunnel is the longest tunnel on the trail. It has a 2% grade with about a 2000 foot elevation change as you go up. We rode this trail both up and down because the shuttle service was not running. It was an awesome trail to ride. “Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.” - Emily Brontë Taken on October 9, 2018 with an iPhone 6s on the Fox River Trail in Brown County, Wisconsin. "Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons." - Jim Bishop
